Stamp 1: Gild with a plant you have foraged
Get in touch with your inner Pixie and head outside! Forage a leaf or flower, clean off any residue and place it on your tape. Cover your tape with metallic leaf - this will allow the metallic leaf to only stamp into the clay where your plant is!
Stamp 2: Gild with an imprint cutter
Place your metallic leaf over your clay and stamp with your imprint cutter, then just clean up the excess metallic leaf with tape and voila - a beautifully gilded creation.
Our Top Tips for success!
- When foraging a plant, ensure it is easy to lay flat - having your plant lay flat means your metallic leaf won't break, giving you nice coverage
- Make sure you keep your tape flat when removing the metallic leaf to avoid removing metallic leaf from the imprint
- Using larger tape such as packing tape can make this project much easier but you can always use multiple strips of narrower tape
